Arjas Steel to strengthen SBQ production with RSB® 300++/4

Arjas Steel Ltd. has successfully integrated the KOCKS Reducing & Sizing Block RSB® 300++/4 into its rolling mill at the Tadipatri plant. Originally built under Gerdau Steel India in 2012 to produce rebar and construction steel, the rolling mill has since shifted focus to special bar quality production, aligning with Arjas Steel's dedication to producing highest-quality long products for advanced industrial applications.

Arjas’ Tadipatri plant, operating under the new name since 2018, partnered with Friedrich KOCKS GmbH & Co. KG to add a highly reliable and efficient finishing block to its mill. The advanced 3-roll technology allows Arjas Steel to improve production efficiency and quality, offering the highest flexibility with unique free-size ranges and swift stand changes.

With emphasis on serving the domestic processing industries and export markets, the RSB® 300++/4 was specified to deliver precise, high-quality long products. The KOCKS block rolls straight round bars ranging from Ø 16.0 to 65.0 mm and hexagonal bars from 18.5 to 40.5 mm, all with exceptional dimensional accuracy, efficiently on the cooling bed. The setup also allows the production of smaller rounds down to Ø 13.0 mm for the bar-in-coil line that follows the RSB®.

The installation of the RSB® 300++/4 reflects Arjas Steel’s commitment to advancing its SBQ offerings. Engineers from both companies collaborated closely to customize the block to meet Arjas’ precise requirements, ensuring exceptional quality and economic efficiency in production. To further enhance operational success, the Arjas team completed extensive technical training with KOCKS experts in Germany, gaining hands-on knowledge of the technology and its capabilities.

The successful installation is underscored by the signing of the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) documents. With this upgrade, Arjas Steel is now well-equipped to meet the demands of India's fast-growing steel sector, positioning itself for sustainable success in SBQ production.
