First bar rolled on RSB® 370++/4 sizing block at Xinyu Iron & Steel

Xinyu Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. (XISCO), a leading Chinese special steel producer, has successfully rolled the first bar on its KOCKS RSB® 370++/4. The advanced Reducing & Sizing Block is part of XISCO’s new state-of-the-art rolling mill complex in Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province. This installation marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts of the steel producer to optimize and scale production.

XISCO, a subsidiary of China Baowu Group, the world's largest steel producer with an annual output of 130 million tons, continues to expand its capabilities with the installation of KOCKS 3-roll technology. The RSB® 370++/4 is a pivotal investment in their 560,000 t/a SBQ mill, where it acts as the finishing block, ensuring the highest precision and dimensional flexibility for straight bars.

The RSB® 370++/4 is positioned after 22 stands in an H/V arrangement and rolls straight bars in diameters ranging from Ø 20.00 to 90.00 mm. Designed according to XISCO’s specific requirements, the 3-roll block from KOCKS enables the realization of the highest quality standards while maintaining economic efficiency throughout the production process.

This successful commissioning of another Reducing & Sizing Block the iF-awarded design not only enhances XISCO’s production capacity but also underscores KOCKS commitment to innovation and quality in the demanding steel industry. In addition to the RSB® itself, KOCKS also provided essential roll-shop equipment and its modern software and automation solutions. The Reducing & Sizing block features the Remote Control for automatic stand and guide adjustments and comes with the BAMICON Octopus software and hardware, a workflow-oriented solution supporting all roll shop processes.
